Two Individuals Accused Regarding Heathrow ‘Pepper Spray’ Incident

Two individuals are now facing charges related to a suitcase robbery where a believed to be irritant spray led to people being hurt at the UK's busiest airport.

Tyrone Richards, 31, and Anton Clarke-Butcher, 24, now face two counts of robbery and charges for administering a noxious substance, authorities have stated.

The charges follow an probe of an assault at the parking structure at Terminal 3 on Sunday. Prior to the attack, two female travelers had their suitcases taken after exiting a car park lift, police said.

A toddler was among those injured during the incident. A total of five individuals went to hospital for treatment and were later discharged.

The incident – described by police as was a standalone event and not being treated as terrorism – resulted in train delays and the temporary blocking of the main airport road tunnel and the Terminal 3 car park for a short time.
