The President Welcomes Loved Ones of Injured Guard Members to the White House

President Trump stated on Sunday that he has extended an invitation the relatives of a Guard member fatally shot last week to attend the executive mansion.

He mentioned that he spoke to her family and they were “heartbroken”.

Details on the Devastating Incident

US army specialist Beckstrom, twenty years old, was lost her life in a violent incident on last Wednesday in Washington DC.

Her fellow service member, Staff Sgt Andrew Wolfe, 24, is still in the hospital in critical condition.

Vigils across West Virginia have been held in their remembrance.

White House Call

The commander-in-chief said he’s talked about a White House visit for the loved ones of both individuals of the state Guard.

“I told them: ‘When you’re ready, because that’s a hard experience, come to the White House. We’re going to recognize Sarah,” Trump addressed journalists. “And likewise with Andrew, recover or not.”

Public Support

Community members came together over the past few days at Webster County high school in the state to honor Sarah.

Both the soldiers had been working with the West Virginia National Guard as part of the president’s national effort to support law enforcement in DC.

Honoring Beckstrom

“Sarah was the kind of student that educators desired. She behaved with quiet strength, a warm expression and a optimistic attitude that encouraged those around her,” Jarrod Hankins, the principal of Beckstrom’s previous school, stated to the press. “She was kind, caring and always ready to assist people.”

Service arrangements for Beckstrom are in the process of planning.

Legal Measures and Policy Changes

Authorities have indicted a twenty-nine-year-old individual from Afghanistan with one count of murder and two counts of attempted murder while carrying a weapon.

The incident led the government to pause asylum processing and halt issuing visas to possessors of Afghan passports.

Status of Andrew Wolfe

Wolfe, a resident of the city, began his service in early 2019 and is a 2019 graduate of his local high school, as reported by the AP.

He continues to receive treatment and is “in a critical fight”, the state’s governor Patrick Morrisey said on Fox News Channel’s The Sunday Briefing.

The state’s top lawyer Pam Bondi told the program that she planned to visit Wolfe’s family.

Legacy of Beckstrom

Sarah, from her hometown, graduated from Webster County high school in June 2023 and enlisted soon after, working as a military police officer with distinction, as stated by the West Virginia National Guard.

“She had a lot of goodness and she definitely had bravery,” the governor addressed the audience at the vigil. “Though her time lasted far too short, she has left a mark that’s going to be remembered always.”
