The former president's Granddaughter Receives Professional Advice from Tiger Woods Before LPGA Debut

Young golfer getting ready for significant competition

The rising star maintains considerable social media presence

Kai Trump can count on multiple high-profile backers when she starts her LPGA debut this Thursday.

The 18-year-old athlete, who is connected to a former US president, was granted a tournament invitation to participate at Florida's Annika event in the Sunshine State.

The former president, an avid golfer, possesses numerous courses worldwide and frequently competes against Kai.

"He's pretty good. I can't say much but we have some close matches," she revealed.

She mentioned that her grandfather, who cannot attend, advised her: "Just don't get nervous."

"He essentially suggested to play and enjoy myself," she added.

"In my eyes, he's just an ordinary family member. He won't be there this weekend. He's focused on running the country, so he's quite busy."

While still amateur, Kai has participated in just three tournaments recently and has the 461st position in the American Junior Golf Association listings.

However she can receive tips from 15-time major champion, in a relationship with Vanessa.

"He is the top athlete globally," Kai expressed.

"Additionally, he's a superior person. He suggested me to go out there, enjoy myself, adapting to whatever happens."

Kai will face several the biggest names in professional golf at the competition, such as second-ranked Nelly Korda, British Charley Hull, professional Thompson and last year's winner champion Vu.

The LPGA stated that her participation helps introduce golf to new audiences, especially with youth audiences.

Kai maintains a massive following and just introduced her own clothing and lifestyle company.

The competition starts at 17:30 GMT.
