Acclaimed writer for children and comedian David Walliams has parted ways with his publisher HarperCollins UK, as confirmed by the firm.

A spokesman for the firm said: "Upon deliberation, and following the appointment of its fresh leadership, HarperCollins UK has decided not to publish future works by David Walliams."

Reports indicate that the decision was taken subsequent to an inquiry regarding claims about conduct deemed unsuitable directed at female individuals.

The company has not elaborated on the motivations for this action, adding: "We do not comment on confidential company decisions."

A Prolific Literary Career

Walliams ranks among Britain's most successful children's authors, boasting over in excess of 60 million copies worldwide in five dozen languages.

His first children's book, *The Boy in the Dress*, came out under HarperCollins fifteen years ago.

Several of his titles, such as *Gangsta Granny* and *Billionaire Boy*, have found new life as TV movies.

To date, he has released more than 40 books combined, which features a holiday title called *Santa & Son*, which was published by HarperCollins in October.

He first rose to fame on the TV sketch series *Little Britain* and has additionally received National Television Awards for his duties as an arbiter on *Britain's Got Talent*.

He received an OBE in 2017 for his services to charity and the arts.

This development follows the appointment of Kate Elton as HarperCollins UK's freshly installed boss last fall.
