Jurgen Klopp states coming back to manage Liverpool is theoretically possible.

The German coach, who departed from Liverpool in 2024, has suggested that rejoining the club remains a possibility. Klopp, post a game-changing near-decade reign that included continental glory and the Premier League crown for three decades, has since taken on roles as head of global soccer with the Red Bull group and in an advisory capacity with the German Football League.

Supporters’ Hopes and Klopp’s Candid Remarks

Liverpool won the Premier League under Arne Slot, but many fans who adore the manager would be thrilled by the possibility that he might come back one day. In a wide-ranging interview, he shared with the podcast host: “I said I refuse to lead another team in England. Which implies should it be the Reds...absolutely. It's plausible.”

“At 58 years old, so the choice could be mine down the line, it's uncertain. Do I have to make the decision today? Then I will not coach again. Fortunately, no such pressure exists. I'll wait and observe what lies ahead.”

What Would Lure Him Back?

Questioned regarding which situations must arise to tempt his return to the dugout, he revealed he was not instantly drawn for a comeback. “I'm not entirely sure, My present work fulfills me,” he said. “I don't crave being a coach; I don’t miss standing under bad weather through long matches; No need for press conferences repeatedly each week or constant media duties each week.

“The locker room isn't missed per se, but sitting in a restaurant with the team having a nice chat, is pleasant. With many victories meaning regularly positive atmosphere around the place. I can still hear the captain's chuckle vividly recalled for example.”

Commending Arne Slot

He commended for his successor, crediting him due to the changes that took the title in the previous season. The team has suffered four consecutive matches across various tournaments after a summer spending spree, but he rubbished the notion of it representing a slump.

“[Liverpool have] an incredible striker such as Wirtz, you will all eat your words with negative comments. A remarkable prospect. The French striker, excellent performer. This is a well-built well-judged squad. You don’t have to worry about Liverpool, they'll bounce back.”

Emotional Tribute for Diogo Jota

Klopp also spoke emotionally about the death of Jota, whom he brought in while in charge, along with the consequences at the club. The forward was killed in a car crash alongside his brother in July.

“How do you replace a person like him? It’s not about his on-field talent, it’s the guy he was. I can’t imagine the squad without him in it. Putting it into words is tough on this topic. It was an incredible shock for his teammates also. Nobody at Liverpool would cite it to justify results yet it's the reality. Entering the changing area where his spirit remains. Coping with it individually is challenging. Unbearable.”
